Halfway to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Before i say anything, yes, lots of similarities to buffy, but so different at the same time.
I really enjoyed reading this book, and was genuinely excited to pick it up again and read some more. I cared about the characters, thought they were idiots most of the time but still wanted things to end well for them. The protagonists were interesting enough, close enough to whats common to accept quickly and easily yet unique enough that you remember them as separate entities right off the bat.
Plotwise this is typical Urban Fantasy fare, romance in the background, action taking centre stage. the romance element is a lot stronger than most UF novels but i still wouldnt class it as Paranormal Romance (PNR), its Urban Fantasy, but definately aimed at a female audience.
I will be picking up One foot in the grave, the second in this series asap!
